CABINET RESHUFFLE

(For the reshuffle, the political news editor asked me to join the team in Downing Street as a pool producer, liaising with the Westminster newsroom and other broadcasters, crafting ad hoc questions to ask politicians as they emerged from No.10. At the same time, I was supporting the correspondents and presenters based in Downing Street, who were anchoring the live Sky News coverage.)

Lord David Cameron

As Lord David Cameron left No.10, I asked: “Will you keep the PM’s and the Party’s Brexit Promises in trade negotiations? Do you have confidence in this PM?”

He chatted with Sir Phillip Barton and walked through the gates to the Foreign Office.

Laura Trott MP

“The 4 top positions in cabinet have been allocated to privately educated men - Is the Tory party returning to its old ways? Does Sunak dislike strong women?”, I asked.

She smiled and walked, being one of few female MPs to get a promotion.

Thérèse Coffey

In a shock to all journalists in Downing Street, Thérèse Coffey arrived mid-morning during the reshuffle.

I asked: “Is the PM weak? Is this a reset or more chaos? Do you have faith in PM Sunak?”

She later resigned. We got her answer.
